Jakob is the author of the groundbreaking report »stadtnachacht – Management der Urbanen Nachtökonomie« (2014/2015) – the first empirically based contribution to emerging issues around nightlife, night-time economies and urban development in German cities – and published several papers on nightlife related topics. He works as an urban designer in Hamburg and as planning consultant. Jakob is one of the curators and founding partner of the NIGHTS – Stadt nach Acht conferences. Since 2011 several lectureships for urban planning at HafenCity Universität Hamburg and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Goettingen. He holds a PhD in Urban Planning from HafenCity University Hamburg. Member of the Vereinigung für Stadt-, Regional- und Landesplanung e.V. (SRL) and registered member of the Chamber of Architects Hamburg (HAK).
